When punter-placekicker Steve Hazekamp fell to the turf last week with what seemed to be a serious knee injury, Hope College football coach Dean Kreps breathed a heavy sigh. “I thought we were done with that,” Kreps said of Saturday’s game against Carthage (Wis.) College. “Then (Hazekamp) goes down.” Fortunately for the Flying Dutchmen, a promising newcomer could give them a boost with his leg.
